"I've Passed the Pan-Canadian Exam: Now What?"--Beginning Your Career in TCM

On Feb. 13, 2019, Lianne Batista shared her knowledge and experiences with our students about "Begin Your Career in TCM". Lianne is a physiotherapist, a registered nurse and a registered acupuncturist. she has been a health care professional for over two decades and experienced in hospital intensive pediatric care as a nurse, cooperating rehabilitation centers as a physiotherapist. In 2013, she established her own company -- Transcend Physiotherapy & Wellness, which provides home care services to the patients for their maximum convenience in physiotherapy and acupuncture treatments. Besides, she also offers consultation and mentoring to health care professionals to help them build their own business. Lianne talked about the pros and cons of running a business, the tax implications of an independent contractor, patient recruitment and retention, insurance billing, record keeping, patient privacy, and common ethically related issues in practice.    Lianne's presentation was interactive and enjoyable. Many students asked her a lot of questions even after the presentation and they all valued her kind share of her successful experiences in how to start the career as a TCM professional.
