TSTCM Participates in TCM Day at Queen’s Park
On October 28, 2024, TSTCM proudly attended the TCM Day event held at the Ontario legislature in Queen’s Park. Organized by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Ontario (TCMO) and the Council of TCM Schools of Ontario (CTCASO), the event was a resounding success!
The primary goals of the event were to raise awareness, promote Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and foster relationships with politicians and government officials. Invitations were extended to all Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs), including the Premier and Cabinet Ministers. Representatives from various political parties expressed their appreciation and support for TCM.
TSTCM students, alumni, faculty, and President Mary Wu actively participated, engaging in meaningful conversations with MPPs, professional leaders, and fellow practitioners. Approximately 30 MPPs attended, alongside over 70 participants in total. TSTCM graduates played a pivotal role in organizing the event, showcasing their leadership within the profession. Meanwhile, student participants gained valuable insights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The TCM Day at Queen’s Park is established as an annual event to maintain open dialogue with government officials and policymakers. This initiative aims to advance the TCM profession and facilitate its integration into Ontario’s mainstream healthcare system, ultimately enhancing the health and well-being of Ontarians.
