A meaningful night for TCM in Ontario with Michael Tibollo

On February 19, 2025, a significant fundraising event was held in support of Hon. Michael Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, to advocate for the integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) within Ontario’s healthcare system.

The event, organized by leaders from the TCM community—including practitioners, educational institutions, and associations—attracted over 300 attendees, including faculty, graduates, and students from TSTCM.

During an intimate fireside chat with Tibollo, President Mary Wu highlighted the benefits of TCM’s holistic approach, emphasizing its potential to enhance wellness, prevent and treat various conditions, and contribute to a more comprehensive healthcare system.

A key advocacy point was the necessity of implementing the registration of the “TCM Doctor” title in Ontario to ensure that TCM professionals meet high standards of education and competency, ultimately enhancing patient safety and confidence in TCM treatments.

The event was a resounding success, uniting passionate advocates and decision-makers in a shared vision for the future of TCM in Ontario. With growing recognition of its benefits, this gathering marked an important step toward greater integration of TCM within the province’s healthcare system. The enthusiasm and support demonstrated by attendees reaffirmed the commitment to advancing TCM education, regulation, and accessibility. As momentum builds, the path forward looks promising for a healthcare system that embraces the best of both traditional and modern medicine.
