Overall Expectations:
After completing this program, the student is expected to have comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in TCM theory, diagnosis, and treatment.
Specific Expectations:
Following graduation the student is expected to have the practical experience and skills necessary to be an independent TCM practitioner who will provide patients with quality and effective treatments using a wide range of TCM modalities, including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and tuina massage.
Equivalent Standards:
This program is designed according to the standards of Masters Degree program in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in the United States. It meets the eligibility requirements for acupuncture, Chinese herbology, Asian bodywork therapy, and Oriental medicine certification by NCCAOM in the US. Graduates of this program also qualify for licensing examination for TCM practitioners in British Columbia, Canada.
Requirements:
This program requires a minimum of 2880 hours (including 920 clinical hours), and takes four academic years full time, three years intensive, or four to eight years part-time to complete.
