Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists are becoming more and more recognized as regulated health care professionals in Canada. The government is moving forward in regulating the profession and the public is growing more accepting of TCM for health promotion, disease prevention and treatment. Only individuals who meet professional standards and can demonstrate their competence will be qualified to practice when the laws governing TCM regulation becomes effective.
The Canadian Alliance of Regulatory Bodies, composed of all official TCMA regulatory bodies where the profession is regulated, has developed the Entry Level Competencies for Acupuncturists and for TCM Practitioners. The Transitional Council for the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario is currently drafting the requirements for registration and for professional conducts.
To ensure the qualifications and success of our graduates, TSTCM focuses on providing systematic, comprehensive, applicable and hands-on training in both theory and practice. Many TSTCM graduates have received credentials from regulatory bodies and have established successful professional practices.
